Cincon Releases ECB40W18-ECRT/EDRT Series, New 40W 16:1 Ultra-wide Input Range Chassis-mount DC-DC Converter

      Introducing the ECB40W18-ECRT/EDRT series, our latest 16:1 ultra-wide input chassis-mount DC-DC converter. This compact module, measuring just 5.63 x 2.56 inches (143 x 65 mm), delivers 40W of regulated power. It comes with IEC/UL 62368-1 3rd edition safety approvals and provides 3000Vac isolation (input to output).

      The ECB40W18-ECRT/EDRT series is available in multiple configurations, including single output options of 5, 12, 15, 24, 48, and 54 VDC. It also includes a remote on/off capability. Additionally, it complies with EN 50155 standards, as well as Shock & Vibration EN 61373 and Fire & Smoke EN 45545-2, making it ideal for railway applications. The EMI standards are met for both EN 50155 and EN 55032.

      This series also passes voltage supply interruption requirements (Class S3) and voltage change-over (Class C2) without needing an external capacitor. With a 30ms holdup time, it’s an efficient turnkey solution.

Exceptional Performance:

      The ECB40W18-ECRT/EDRT offers an ultra-wide input voltage range of 10~160 VDC, accommodating the common distributed voltages found in railway power systems. It achieves high efficiency levels of up to 89% and operates within a broad temperature range of -40°C to +95°C. This DC-DC converter is also suitable for high-altitude applications, functioning effectively up to 5000m, with a mean time between failures (MTBF) of up to 630k hours.

Full Protections:

      This series has received approvals under IEC/UL 62368-1 3rd edition for the DC module and meets EN 50155 and EN 45545-2 standards essential for railway applications. The ECB40W18-ECRT/EDRT series is fully protected against input reverse polarity, under-voltage lockout (UVLO), output over-current/voltage conditions, over-temperature situations, and continuous short circuit scenarios.
